After making “Beavis & Butt-Head” and “King of the Hill”, Mike Judge was an icon in the animated television industry. Then he came out with Office Space (1999), a film that has since become a cult classic for many an office drone (a film which also features, arguably, Jennifer Anniston’s best performance to date).

With Seth McFarlane taking over the non-”Simpsons” animation helm with shows like “Family Guy”, “American Dad” and the upcoming “The Cleveland Show”, Mike Judge has kept his hands more in the movies. His latest, Extract, stars Jason Bateman and hits theaters this September.

After doing a brief stint in a more serious mode (Kingdom (2007)), Jason Bateman has gotten back to what he’s really good at – playing in comedic roles. After nearly stealing the show from Will Smith in , he’s back to team up with Mike Judge, and we can’t wait.

He’s not alone, either. He’s brought along such familiar faces as Mila Kunis (“That 70’s Show”), SNL’er Kristen Wiig, J. K. Simmons (again playing something other than the awful J. Jonah Jameson of the Spider-Man (2002) flicks) and even Ben Affleck – who seems to be at his best playing bit parts.

Mike Judge has really got a fun and diverse cast set up for this one, and with Jason Bateman leading the way, this should be a comedy fans of Kingdom (2007) – or “Arrested Development” – are going to love.

Let’s hope so.
