Plot: Derek Charles (Elba), a successful asset manager to who just received a huge promotion, is blissfully happy in his career and in his marriage to the beautiful Sharon (Knowles). But when Lisa (Larter), a temp worker, starts stalking Derek, all the things he’s worked so hard for are placed in jeopardy.

I know, I know, at first glance, the upcoming film Obsessed looks like nothing but another cheesy Fatal Attraction remake. One happily married couple + 1 deranged female stalker, and who wouldn’t make references to Fatal Attraction.

However, then one notices the names in this film. Idris Elba (Reaping (2007)), Beyonce Knowles (aka Sasha Fierce, apparently) and Ali Larter (that deranged chick in the first season of Heroes who has returned this season as someone else) – plus Jerry O’Connell (!) – and this one starts looking interesting anyway.

So if it’s just another Fatal Attraction remake, why did these stars sign up for it? Obviously, it could be because they got huge salaries to show up. Hopefully, though, it’s because they saw something in the script that made this more than just another ripoff.

Either way, this one may be fun nonetheless, thanks to Ali Larter playing the deranged psycho she got to know so well in the first season of Heroes – and, of course, the inevitable knock-down, drag-out cat fight bound to break out between Beyonce and Ali.

Here’s hoping this one is more than just a ripoff – but we’ll probably wait for the DVD to become Obsessed.
