★★★½☆ Last Mimzy (2007)

Plot: Two children discover a mysterious box that contains some strange devices they think are toys, including a toy rabbit named Mimzy. When the children reveal that Mimzy contains a most serious message from the future, a scientific scan shows that Mimzy is part extremely high level electronic, and part organic! Based on the short story “Mimsy Were The Borogoves” by Lewis Padgett.


★★½☆☆ Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby (2006)

Plot: Ricky Bobby (Ferrell) was born for racing. When he suddenly gets the chance behind the wheel at a NASCAR race, he makes the most of it…until a spectacular crash leaves him unhurt, but afraid to drive fast. With his life in ruins, he’s got to do whatever he can to turn his life around and defeat NASCAR newcomer Jean Girard (Cohen).

Plot: Matt Murdock (Affleck) is a blind lawyer working in Hell’s Kitchen during the day…but at night he becomes the masked vigilante DareDevil, “the man without fear”. Matt is just getting to know the daughter of a wealthy businessman, Electra (Garner), when her father is killed by hit man Bullseye (Farrell) – and DareDevil is blamed. Now, DareDevil has to find who hired Bullseye – before Electra extracts her revenge on him.

Plot: In this prequel to The Mummy series, Ancient Egypt is under attack by an evil tyrant, Memnon (Brand), who along with his sorcerer’s ability to see the future, seems to be unstoppable. The remaining free tribes of Egypt grudgingly join forces and send a trio of Akkadin assassins, led by Mathayus (The Rock), to kill this sorcerer (Hu). However, Mathayus decides that Memnon is the greater threat.
