Golden Globe® Winners 2009

Once again, the Hollywood Foreign Press hosted an extravaganza of glitz, glamor and celebrities in their yearly Golden Globes Awards Show. While Slumdog Millionaire cleaned up, Kate Winslet took home a pair of awards, Heath Ledger got his expected posthumous award and Mickey Rourke picked up his first award in years, showcasing once again that 2008 was the year of the comeback.


★★★★☆ Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989)

Plot: When his father (Connery) goes missing while searching for the Holy Grail, archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones (Ford) must follow in his father’s footsteps and find the true hiding place of the Grail before the Nazis do.


★★★½☆ Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom (1984)

Plot: After stumbling across a village in India, archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones (Ford) is asked to find a sacred stone that has been stolen from the village, along with all of the children. Indy discovers that the sacred stone – and the children – are being used in evil rituals by a newly re-emerging Thuggee cult…and that’s just the beginning.

Plot: It’s 1936. Archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones (Ford) is recruited by the US Government to locate the famous Ark of the Covenant before Hitler – and Jones’ nemesis Belloq (Freeman) – can use it’s legendary power for their own nefarious purposes.

Plot: In retaliation for the 1972 murders of 11 Israeli Olympic athletes in Munich, a secret Israeli squad, led by Avner (Bana), is sent to assassinate 11 Palenstinians believed to be behind the attack. Based on the book “Vengeance” by George Jonas.

Plot: When his ex-wife (Otto) drops off the kids for the weekend, Ray (Cruise) doesn’t expect it to be any more difficult than usual. When Ray goes to investigate an unusual lightning strike, he discovers an enormous three-legged robot rising out of the ground – and destroying everyone it sees. With the robots attacking every corner of the globe, where will he be able to go to keep his children safe? Based on the novel by H.G. Wells.

Plot: In the future, murder can be predicted. With the help of the PreCogs, murder in Washington, D.C. is down to zero. The PreCogs “see” the murder before it happens, and the Pre-Crime unit, led by John Anderton (Cruise) apprehends the murderer before they can kill. The system is perfect. Perfect, that is, until Anderton is “seen” as the next murderer. Now he must run and try to prove his innocence.
