Kicking off it’s 1st season in the summer of 2006, this became a hit in our house almost immediately. The banter between Dule and James is outstanding – as is the one-upmanship between James and the real cops – and the setups (from a spelling bee to a civil war re-enactment) lead James and Dule into some hilarious situations.
This one is funny from the get-go – and the outtakes at the end of each episode just add to the fun.
Many people have compared the new show “Mentalist” to “Psych”, and just like us, thought the new series was a complete rip-off of this USA gem. Thankfully, Patrick Jane and Co. in “Mentalist” is different enough to make us enjoy both – and “Psych” has been having fun with this newfound confusion, even mentioning in one episode “You know that new show ‘Mentalist‘? It’s kinda like that.”
With fun stuff like that, it’s no wonder “Psych” is still our #1 choice whenever we’re in the need for laughs.
